For Immediate Release
Austin, Texas—Democratic candidate for Texas’ 10th congressional district, Mike Siegel, has been endorsed by Democratic Representative Ted Lieu of California. This adds to the growing list of endorsements that the Siegel campaign has received in their bid to unseat Rep. Michael McCaul. This coincides with a recent announcement that the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has placed TX10 on their list of endangered incumbents and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s (DCCC) recent release of new polling that shows only 39% of TX10 voters would re-elect the incumbent while 46% would consider someone else.
Rep. Ted Lieu’s Statement: “I’m proud to endorse Mike Siegel in the Texas 10th. Mike is a teacher and civil rights lawyer who is fighting for opportunity and justice for every American.”
The Siegel campaign has also garnered a number of key national and local endorsements such as: Ted Lieu, U.S. Congressman CA-33; Progressive Democrats of America (PDA); International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW); National Union of Healthcare Workers; Leslie Pool, Austin City Councilwoman; Brigid Shea, Travis County Commissioner; Former Rep. Elliott Naishtat; Mike Floyd, Pearland ISD School Board; Kendric Jones, Prairie View City Councilman; Eric Green, Alderman, City of Brookshire; David Butts, Austin political activist; and others.
Mike Siegel is a progressive Democrat running for Congress in Texas’ 10th district. Mike has spent his career in public service, as a school teacher, civil rights lawyer, and advocate for communities left out of the political process. In 2018, Siegel successfully pushed Waller County to overturn their decision to put up barriers to voting for Prairie View A&M students.
